At Whites Innovative Glass, we offer a range of glass edge options to cater to your specific needs. For flat glass applications such as mirrors, tabletops, and shelves, you can choose the type of edgework that best suits your aesthetic and functional requirements.

No Edgework: This option leaves the glass with sharp edges and is recommended only if all raw edges will be completely concealed in a frame.

Seamed Edges: Achieved through light sanding, seamed edges have a non-uniform, wavy finish. This effect may not be noticeable on thinner glass (like 1/8" or double strength), but on 1/4" or 3/8" glass, the variation can be visible, especially on shelves and mirrors.

Ground Edges: Ground edges offer a consistent, satin finish that reduces reflectivity through the glass or mirror’s edge. On a 1/4" mirror, ground edges help make the edge’s appearance almost imperceptible.

Polished Edges: Created by buffing the glass’s edge with a fine abrasive material and polishing oil, polished edges result in a beautiful translucent finish. Flat polished edges are excellent options for thicker glass used in shelves and frameless shower enclosures.

In addition to these options, we also offer specialty edges such as ogee, triple pencil polish (waterfall), wave, or chipped. These are typically custom fabricated and may add cost. Occasionally, these specialty edges are available on stock items.
